Newton Memorial Page

This page is a tribute to those Newton family members that we have lost, but will never be forgotten. 

Roy Newton passed away Sunday, July 22nd, 2007 at approximately 10:30 PM in Texas.  Services are still pending as of the time of this posting.  God's speed Uncle Roy.

Joy Darlene ( Smith ) Newton passed away on March 9th, 2005 at approximately 6:30 P.M.

They are together again!

Mom, Rosie Newton, passed away Thursday, July 27th, 2006 at 10:38 PM at Memorial Hosptial of Carbondale, in Carbondale, IL.  She put up another strong fight but went peacefully into the night.  Her memorial service was held in Zeigler, IL, Saturday, July 29th, 2006.  Mom's wishes were to be cremated.  Her ashes will be spread over water at a future date.  She was my mother and my friend and will be missed greatly but I thank her for her unwavering love my whole life.  She had dignity in life and in death.  We all will miss her.

Uncle Joe passed away today, June 28, 2006.  He was at home, where he wanted to be.  My memories of Uncle Joe are many and the stories he told would make you laugh.  He will be missed.  God's speed.

Aunt Dollie passed away February 09, 2000 at her home in Herrin, IL.  As in Newton tradition, her stories were always told with great zest.
